In the News: Medical Cannabis Legislation Advancing

McKnight’s Long-Term Care News reported on the progress of SB 185, the bill that helps to clarify the role nursing facility and assisted living facility staff can play in administering CBD or THC-A to residents or patients who have a valid, written certification for these medications. VHCA-VCAL’s April Payne was quoted in the article.

Payne explained, “Under [Sen. Siobhan] Dunnavant’s leadership, Virginia is taking steps in the right direction to help nursing facilities and assisted living communities navigate the issues around resident’s use and possession of CBD or THC-A.”
