Ashley Jackson Picked for Future Leaders Class

Ashley Jackson, Administrator at Heritage Hall-Virginia Beach, has been chosen by AHCA/NCAL as a future leader in long term and post-acute care. She will join the Future Leaders program, a year-long program that offers training and guidance for long term and post-acute care professionals.

After a competitive review process, 38 long term care professionals were selected from across the country.

“AHCA/NCAL is dedicated to offering skilled nursing professionals who are providing high quality care the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills,” said Mark Parkinson, President & CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “We look forward to seeing Ashley and the entire Future Leaders class apply these newly-acquired skills to improve the well-being of individuals within long term and post-acute care.”

“Ashley’s dedication to long term care to improve the lives of the patients and residents in her facility continues to impress all of us in Virginia.  I know we will all benefit from the experience she gains by participating in this program,” said Keith Hare, President and CEO of VHCA-VCAL.

An active VHCA-VCAL member, Ashley was named the VHCA Nursing Center Administrator of the Year in 2016.  She has served as the Administrator of Heritage Hall – Virginia Beach, a 90-bed skilled nursing center, since 2011.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Health Services Administration from James Madison University in three years, while working in the dietary department at Westminster Canterbury in Lynchburg.  Upon graduation she sought out American HealthCare to continue working in long term care.  With American HealthCare she was enrolled in an Administrator-in-Training program and earned her nursing home administrator’s license at the age of 21.
