This afternoon the U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Health Care Act repealing the Affordable Care Act.  The measure passed on a 217-213 vote.  The bill includes language implementing a per capita cap on Medicaid.  VHAC-VCAL and AHCA/NCAL have serious concerns about this provision’s impact on long term care providers.

Twenty House Republicans voted against the measure, including Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA-10^th).  The balance of the Virginia delegation voted along party lines—Republicans in favor; Democrats against.

VHCA-VCAL and AHCA/NCAL will continue to monitor legislative activity on this bill.  At present it is uncertain what action the U.S. Senate may take.
