VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates. 

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession. 

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of August 27, 2018.  

• 8/28—Participated in the DMAS CCC Plus Care Coordination call.
• 8/28—Scarlett Huang, Executive Director at Envoy of Williamsburg, and Becky Bodie, Regional VP Operations Eastern Virginia for Consulate Health Care, hosted a meeting with Sen. Monty Mason (D-Williamsburg) at the center.
• 8/28—Participated in the biweekly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing calls with Virginia Premier and Anthem.
• 8/29—Participated in the AHCA/NCAL webinar Trends Driving Change in Long-Term Care.
• 8/29— Participated in the biweekly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing calls with Magellan and United.
• 8/30—Participated in a WebEx hosted by AHCA to discuss the new Patient Drive Payment Model and the association’s education efforts.
• 8/30—Participated in the biweekly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing calls with Aetna and Optima.
