What’s new: DSS issued an update to a prior memo about VDH tuberculosis risk assessment screening.

• DSS inspectors will not inspect for the VDH guidance about which healthcare providers (e.g., MD, DO, PA, NP, RN, LPNs) can complete the form beginning December 5, 2022 as they are currently reviewing the TB Risk Assessment information with the VDH.

For context: When DSS issued a memo earlier this fall about the TB risk assessment form, VCAL reached out to the agency, the Board of Nursing and the VDH Office of Epidemiology, which oversees TB screening and reporting.

• VCAL asked for clarification about which providers could complete the Virginia TB Risk Assessment Form, particularly related to the use of LPNs.
