The DSS Division of Licensing Programs announced that the provider portal for applications for initial licensure for assisted living facilities is live in the new Virginia Enterprise Licensing Application (VELA). Additional functionalities will roll out later this year.

To start a new, initial application, providers can access the online portal. The “Useful Links” and “Quick Reference Guide” tabs in the provider portal have useful resources which will guide you through different VELA functionalities. Additional information is also available in this April 5 memo.
